The absolute champion of super middleweight (up to 76.2 kg) Mexican Canelo Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs) explained the reason for the bad attitude towards Kazakhstani Gennady Golovkin (42-1-1, 37 KOs).
Alvarez does not hide the fact that he was hurt by Gennady’s statements when he accused him of cheating and did not believe that the illegal drug clenbuterol entered the Mexican body not intentionally, but along with contaminated veal.
“He said that I was dishonest, that I cheated. He said that my whole team is a disgrace to my country, Canelo recalls. – He says a lot of things behind your back, but then, when he meets you and in front of the cameras, he no longer says what he said before. That’s why I don’t like him. He said too much about me in the past. Now he says that there was nothing like that. But I know what he said. This is the reason for my dislike for him.
At the same time, personal attitude aside, Alvarez acknowledges Golovkin’s strength as a boxer:
“He’s one of the best, there’s no doubt about that.”
Recall that the third fight between Alvarez and Golovkin is scheduled for September 17 in Las Vegas (USA).
“I hate that bastard!” Canelo admitted the day before.
